Zamboni began manufacturing ice resurfacing machines in Paramount, California in 1949. Frank J. Zamboni introduced his invention in that year at his ice arena (Paramount Iceland) and the Zamboni ice resurfacer would soon become indispensable for efficient ice rink operation. This website has extensive information about the Zamboni Company history and its machines located in the Archives section. While we are unable to accommodate requests for tours of the facility, historical displays, as well as restored vintage machines are on display at Paramount Iceland. The Zamboni Company has maintained a Canadian operation since 1967. You may recognize the city of Brantford, Ontario, as the home of “The Great One,” Wayne Gretzky. For many years it has been the Canadian home of the Zamboni ice resurfacer as well.
The Canadian facility houses 48,000 square feet of Zamboni machine manufacturing and the plant is busy year-round. It’s factory trained Customer Service team services the entire Province of Ontario and is available for in-arena service calls as well as for service performed in the Brantford facility. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate requests for tours.
Formed in March of 2018 and located in Österfänebo, Sweden, Zamboni Europe AB combines the strong manufacturing and service capabilities of our Zamboni Authorized Distributor, Izomaskin AB with the proven and trusted Zamboni brand and products. Zamboni Europe facilitates local support and service needs for our entire European network of Zamboni Authorized Distributors and Zamboni machine owners, saving valuable time with a complete parts department and factory trained technicians providing a European resource for information.
Formerly our Zamboni Authorized Distributor (since 1993), in December of 2019 Robert Boileau inc. became the newest business unit of the Zamboni Company. Established in 1981, their decades of service in the ice arena industry has benefited Zamboni product owners in the Province of Quebec. Robert Boileau inc. sells and services one of the largest fleets of ice resurfacing equipment in the world, with an expertise in electric powered products. The customer support extends to outstanding training and service programs which are designed to ensure safe and efficient operation of Zamboni ice resurfacing equipment.
